The thesis deals with the geochemistry and geochronology of minerals and is entitled "The effects of metamorphic processes on the textures of zircon and chemistry in mafic rocks -. Consequences for the interpretation of the continental crust evolution"

The applicant must have a university degree (Master's / Bachelor's degree or equivalent) to keep in Earth Sciences at the time of his appointment. Solid experience in petrology expected. The rise of China, India and Brazil as an economic and political "leader" of the world economy is subject to academic research and policy discussions (Lauder, Brown and Brown, 2008). These economies have not only managed to maintain growth despite the economic crisis, but also engines of economic change, the wisdom of economic performance and the challenge of developing its established. This project is under the following headings:

How can companies from emerging powers disrupt the current paradigm of global competition and thus change the "rules" (Zeng and Williamson 2007).
Rising energy companies become global players, with more substantive role in global production networks or conduct business on their own (Schmitz, 2004). What factors open how companies can improve their position?
Continue ramp-up companies, often at the base of the pyramid "or in business innovation that is unprecedented, and have pledged to reduce social problems (London, Anupindi and Sheth 2010). This project aims to identify the levers and outcomes of this process of economic development.

Price

The sentence of three years full-time tuition covers and an annual tax free allowance of about £ 13 000 per year.

Eligibility

Applicants should ideally be completed first or upper second class honors degree in a relevant discipline and have received or expect to be submitted in Autumn 2011, a master's degree in business and management measures.

5 PhD Asian Scholarship Studentships on ReCOS project in Linguistics

Applications are invited for five PhD studentships covering the period 1 October 2011 to 30 September 2014, working under the general supervision of Professor Ian Roberts in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages (although each student will in fact be assigned a four-member PhD committee). This award has become available as a result of an ERC Advanced Grant "Rethinking Comparative Syntax". Successful applicants for these awards are expected to begin PhD study on 1 October 2011 and will receive a student stipend sufficient to meet the fees and maintenance requirements.

Applicants should have completed a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Linguistics, with a specialisation in Syntax and expect to attain or have attained a mark of distinction. Demonstrable interest in one or more specific topics in comparative syntactic research over and above what is set out in the research proposal, and/or a good knowledge of some language(s) other than English, as well as excellent writing skills in English, are desirable. Eligible candidates must submit an advanced proposal of research relevant to the "Rethinking Comparative Syntax" project, in particular, in relation to that project, they should indicate which of the five main empirical areas of research described there they would prefer to carry out doctoral work on.

Vegetation can strongly affect climate through: surface albedo(mediated by vegetation cover), exchange of water vapour (transpiration) and effects on atmospheric CO2 levels (photosynthesis). For future climate predictions, there is thus an increasing demand for suitable vegetation models. Models using ecological theory (optimization or evolutionary game theory) are particularly suitable candidates as they avoid the heavy reliance on parameters which has hampered the use of complex simulation models.

In this project you will use a combination of vegetation models based on ecological theory coupled to a hierarchy of climate (atmosphere) models to study these vegetation-climate feedbacks. This project entails a collaboration with the Institute of Marine and Atmospheric Research (IMAU) and the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development.

Qualifications

You will work on developing vegetation models based on ecological theory and test these against experiments and field data. In collaboration with the IMAU PhD, you will integrate these models into a vegetation-climate feedback model. This work will contribute to more realistic climate prediction models of the Dutch Meteorological Agency (KNMI).

You will hold a MSc or equivalent in Biology, Biogeography or a related natural science. You will preferably have experience in vegetation modelling and will have an affinity for ecology, climatology and mathematics.

Terms of employment

You are offered a full-time position for 4 years.

The salary starts at € 2,042.- and increases to € 2,612.- gross per month in the fourth year and is supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8,3% per year. In addition we offer: a pension scheme, a partially paid parental leave, flexible employment conditions. Conditions are based on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities. An important part of the program is for fellows to share their knowledge with others in their country or region of apricot. Applications are invited for a full-time PhD studentship in the area of Strategic Human Resource Management, starting as soon as possible but no later than January 2011. The studentship is being supported by Kent Business School and will involve working under the supervision of Professor Katie Truss. The main purpose of the studentship
is to study employee engagement within the context of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Professor Truss has led several research projects on employee engagement since 2006 funded by industry and the CIPD, and the studentship will build on research undertaken to date.

The PhD student will join the Centre for Employment, Competitiveness and Growth (ECG) within Kent Business School and will be based primarily at the University’s Medway Campus with Professor Truss. However, they will also be part of the Business School’s doctoral community at Canterbury, so the role will involve some travel between the two sites.

The Institute of Sacred Music at Yale University is currently accepting applications for the ISM Fellows in Sacred Music, Worship, and the Arts for the 2011-2012 academic year. This unique residential fellowship will allow scholars and practitioners in sacred music, liturgical and ritual studies, or religion and the arts to join a vibrant interdisciplinary community at Yale University for one year to further and share their work. The fellowship provides a stipend of up to $60,000, and offers the opportunity to teach.

Eligible candidates

The quality, significance, and focus of the work fellows propose to do during the residency are of paramount importance in the selection process. Each fellow will undertake a substantive and original project that relates to the mission of the Institute. This could be original scholarship, an art exhibition, a musical composition, or work of creative writing, etc.

The Institute especially seeks fellows whose accomplishments have already established them in their field, although applications will be accepted from scholars and practitioners at all career levels. For those at academic institutions, tenure is a desired qualification. An applicant should typically hold the terminal degree in her or his field, although exceptions to this rule may be made in some artistic disciplines. The work applicants propose to pursue must support the mission of the Institute; fellows are expected to work primarily on this project during their year in residence.

Clustered Applications

The Institute welcomes applications from a cluster of qualified individuals who wish to work on a common project. Each person must complete a separate application and note in the appropriate place that he or she is part of a cluster. The same guidelines apply in every other way.

A statement of not more than 1400 words describing the proposed scholarly or creative project intended for the year. Shanghai Government Scholarship at East China University of Science and Technology

According to the Interim Regulations of Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students (hereafter referred to as the Scholarship), this detailed implementation for international students in ECUST has hereby been set forth.

I. Scholarship types and numbers to be awarded

The scholarship is divided into Type A and B

Type A, as a full scholarship, covers tuition, basic learning material, accommodation; it provides insurance for major diseases and accidents; living allowance is offered monthly:

1100 RMB for master student and 1400 RMB for PHD student. It is awarded to applicants for masters and above. The numbers to be awarded is 10 each year.

Type B is semi-scholarship, including tuition, basic learning material and accommodation.

It will be awarded to applicants for masters and above. The numbers to be awarded is 6 each year.

II. Qualification :
1. Citizens with foreign nationalities and in good health;
2. Abide by the Chinese government’s laws, rules and regulations and school regulatory framework;
3. Study earnestly with good results;
4. Applicants for the Doctorate program must already have a Master’s degree and be less than 40 years old;

Applicants for a Masters Degree must already have a Bachelors degree and be less than 35 years old; Students shall not receive other scholarships offered by Chinese government during the same period.

III. Documents required for application

1.Two copies of corresponding Application Form of Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students. (The form can be downloaded from the website of IES : http://ies.ecust.edu.cn/s/50/t/76/main.htm).

2. Notarized diploma and transcript, in notarized Chinese or English translation

3. Personal Statement with no less than 1000 words for master degree applicants and 1500 for doctoral applicants.Content should cover academic background, work experience, academic achievement and master or doctoratestudy plan, personal development goals after graduation, etc.

4. Already published paper title, abstract and other certificates and material that can attest to academic achievement and research ability;

5. Letters of recommendation from two professor or assistant professors.

6. Physical Examination Record

IV. Application time
Applicants shall apply the scholarship before May 15th every year.

V. Evaluation
Applicants should send the application materials directly to School of International Education, ECUST. IES will confirm the validity of the application material and send them to corresponding Schools for assessment and then collect them back.

The IES Student Scholarship Evaluation Committee will evaluate the application material. The evaluation results will be announced during the middle of June and the notice of receipt of Scholarship will be sent to the recipients.

VI. Registration

Recipients of the scholarship should register at the university on time otherwise the scholarship will be withdrawn and the applicant will be considered to have automatically abandoned their studies.

VII. The University will submit copies of the application material to the Shanghai Education Committee for registration one month after the evaluation.

VIII. Final interpretation of this detailed implementation is a right reserved by the International Education School Scholarship Evaluation Committee.
