The Appraisal Institute Education Trust offers several scholarships including this one specifically for minorities and woman students.The Appraisal Institute is a global association of real estate appraisers, with nearly 23,000 valuation professionals in almost 60 countries throughout the world. Its mission is to advance professionalism and ethics, global standards, methodologies, and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide.
Organized in 1932, the Appraisal Institute advocates equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in the appraisal profession and conducts its activities in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. Appraisal Institute professionals benefit from an array of education and advocacy programs, and may hold the prestigious MAI, SRPA and SRA designations.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must be a minority identified by the U.S. Census Bureau as follows: Black/African American, Asian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, or Female.
- Applicant must be a full-time or part-time student enrolled in real estate related courses in real estate or a related field within a U.S. degree granting college/university or junior college.
- Applicant must have a current cumulative grade point average of no less than 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicant must have financial need.
- Scholarship award must be used in the same calendar year as awarded
