Background:


The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is to provide a need-based scholarship to a female high school senior from a recognized minority background (see Scholarship Criteria), who will be pursuing a full-time course of study and playing collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a female from a recognized minority background –
  • African-American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan, or Hispanic descent.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. legal resident.
  • Applicants must be high school seniors accepted to attend a full-time course of 
  • study at an accredited post-secondary institution in the United States.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Applicants must have a background in golf and plan to play competitive golf at 
  • an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Important Dates:

Application deadline is  May 15, 2013.
