Southern California high school seniors have until Jan. 21, 2014 to apply for scholarships from Ronald McDonald House Charities.

About $338,000 in scholarships will be awarded to seniors in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. To apply, interested students should visit www.rmhc.org.

A total 109 scholarships will be awarded through four programs: African American Future Achievers, Asian Pacific American Students Increasing Achievement, Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources and Scholars.

Scholarship funds can be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses.

Since 1990, RMHC of Southern California has awarded more than $4.5 million in scholarship funds to local students, with funding coming through the global and Southern California chapters of RMHC and the fundraising efforts of local McDonald's owner/operators and corporate staff.

A minimum 2.7 grade point average is required to be eligible.
