Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area (RMHC-NYTSA) is now accepting applications for the 2015 RMHC/ASIA (Asian Students Increasing Achievement) Scholarship Program, the largest scholarship offered to Asian students from the New York tri-state area.
The RMHC/ASIA Scholarship Program awards six students up to $17,000 each for their undergraduate studies.
The application deadline for the RMHC/ASIA Scholarship Program is Jan. 20, 2015.
The program is a multi-year scholarship that awards six students $5,000 for their freshman year, followed by $4,000 for each of the three following, consecutive, subsequent years (for a total of $17,000) as long as they meet a required GPA.
The scholarships are distributed based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.
Applicants must be currently enrolled high school seniors who have at least one parent with Asian/Pacific-Islander heritage, and who are eligible to enroll and attend an institution of higher education or vocational/technical school with a complete course of study in the year immediately following graduation.
Each applicant must be a legal U.S. resident, be less than 21 years of age, have a minimum 2.7 GPA and reside within the New York tri-state area.
General Eligibility Requirements
To apply for an RMHC scholarship, a student must:Be a high school senior
Be younger than 21 years old
Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or technical school with a full course of study
Be a legal U.S. resident
Live in a participating RMHC Chapter's geographic area
Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline of the application
Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program
Provide verification of enrollment each year at respective accredited post-secondary institution
